This has been a hard, transitional week for me. Since moving over to the new domain name, I’ve seen my traffic sag somewhat. I’ve been quick to swap out the old web address with the new one wherever I get the most exposure, but this is going to be an uphill battle.
I’ve spent the last six months building this ‘blog back up, and only recently, I was really starting to gather real momentum.
The various metrics for measuring the success and standing of a website showed me making incremental, weekly gains.
In the short term, much of that is now gone. However, that’s the short-term.
The long-term benefits are much more control over my stuff, and more trust in my ‘blog, as the perception of an original web address is more positive than something borrowed, like a Google Blogger / Blogspot address.
So if you’ve got this ‘blog bookmarked, or you’ve added this ‘blog to some bookmarking service, I’d appreciate it if you could update those bookmarks with the new web address.
Sometimes, you’ve got to go backwards to go forwards…

Personally I couldn’t give a rat’s ass whether a site has an ‘original web address’ or not. The trust is in the content… and therein the creator, themself. Hope your weekend is going well. Take care – Anna
