About Blah, Blah! Technology…

Blah, Blah! Technology is about delivering technology commentary and opinion on the kind of technology trends that shape lives, shape businesses and shape the future…

I attempt to take the complexities of technology and distill their terms, phrases and industry nomenclature into smaller, easier analogies and examples that hopefully anyone can read and understand and to make technology accessible to the layman.

Here’s a little history and background to Blah, Blah! Technology, by way of an interview over on Peopleize.

“I’d love to see more writings of this caliber related to future predictions.”
~ Jacob

I try not be the echo, though by virtue of simply providing commentary on something in the news, I have to be some kind of echo, albeit a quieter one.

In response to the issue of: “Blogging and the Problem of the Echo Chamber”, I had this to say:

“… But you could always argue the same point about your daily trip to the supermarket.

You walk down each isle, lots of different products all with basically the same content, or at least purporting to offer the same contents.

However, it’s up to you as a consumer to apply some trial & error to these products to determine which is best for you…”

So it’s not so much about what I’m saying, or how many other people are saying the same thing, it’s about how I say my thing.

A little about me and the stuff I do for a living

My name is Wayne Smallman and I’m the guy behind Octane Interactive, a web design & development agency based in Yorkshire, England:

“I help people make money from the Web. I help people work over the Web. I help people measure what they’re doing on the Web. A clear, simple, pain-free and focused, professional service. Octane has been in business for over 8 years and counting…”

I also provide a broad consultancy service to my clients, which usually entails talking about business strategies, planning and implementing web technologies and web applications throughout their business.

More often than not, I find myself asking my clients really obvious questions. And there’s a good reason for this, too.

As businesses grow, they grow organically. Stuff which they know is accepted and taken for granted.

I help my clients unearth this ‘forgotten knowledge’ and make them think again about the value of that knowledge and what that knowledge represents.
