<em>"Microsoft say Bing is about making decisions. OK, let’s see what Bing has to offer. Because if Microsoft are telling me they can help me make decisions, they better deliver on that."</em>

I tried using Bing. Well, I can say it is very effective and useful if you are searching for basic information on certain topics. But I guess, I would still go back to Google because it gives more varied results, which is what a "decision engine" is supposed to do. But I give credit to Microsoft's marketing strategy. Its habit of overstating its soon-to-be-launched technology is always effective. Otherwise, the after-effects of using these technologies would not be as great. Establishing people's expectations has always been Microsoft's forte. However, it keeps on forgetting that the greater the expectations, the greater the disappointments!

As an IT administrator, Google still delivers for me every time where as "Bing" would prefer to sell me something that’s unrelated to my search string.

As long as that continues, so will I continue to set Google as the homepage for the 500+ PC/Laptops I am responsible for thus continuing to sow the Google seed.

I like Bing because my site rank number in it but I don't think Bing could beat Google since many people have used to it and its hard to change the habit of people. But its too early to say tough because I have heard a lot of positive feedback about it. Who knows?

I don't see me making any decisions on the basis of searches I might do on Bing. I think they tried and failed miserably to cash in on the notion of a knowledge engine as described by Wolphra...

Microsoft = FAIL again

I personally think this could be the best shot Microsoft has to fight Google... I actually like it. I have been using it since it was launched and so far, no difference with Google, and for a few things, it is faster and gives more information than Google, <em>but</em>, Google is better when it comes to blog and forums search.

I like your reasonings.To go back to Google is a good idea. Google knows everything. I could not argue that Bing is still firmly in beta mode and all of these issues could be resolved.

Too bad it looks like Microsoft has flubbed again. Would like to have some real competition in the market again.
