Blah, Blah! Technology blog 2008 and beyond…

Friday, 28 December 2007 — by Wayne Smallman

It’s that time of the year when The Big Think Engine goes in for a full service and all of the “What if?” widgets get an entire week off. But rest assured, the man behind the crimson curtain never rests…

To all those that have subscribed to the Blah, Blah! Technology ‘blog, your passive patronage has been the fuel that drives my ideas.

Without you, there would be no ‘blog. So please comment and be known! Maybe let us know why you subscribed to the Blah, Blah! Technology ‘blog and what you like most.

What’s in store for the Blah, Blah! Technology ‘blog for 2008

We have some truly wonderful plans for the ‘blog, some of which we’re working on right now.

  1. More interaction — We’ve already added a Poll option, which we’ll be using to find out just what you guys are thinking about and what you’d like to see more of on the ‘blog. But that’s really only the beginning.
  2. More content — We’ll be collating articles into resources to help you guys with a variety of topics, including Featured Articles, which will focus on things like Social Media & Social Networking, Search Engine Optimization & Search Engine Marketing and Personal Branding & Brand Management, among others.
  3. More guest writers — I’m pleased with how things worked out with Kate, Paul and Stephen, so there’ll be more to come!
  4. See me live — Due to work commitments, I missed out on a couple speaking opportunities in 2007, which really is the next logical step for myself as a ‘blogger. I do hope to redress that imbalance in 2008.

There are many, many other things planned, but they’re all very hush-hush and still under discussion.

For both myself, my business and my ‘blog, 2007 has been a strange mixture of millstones and milestones.

But the successes managed to get the better of the defeats, convincing them to settle their bill and leave early. So with any luck, 2008 will be much better for their departure.

Blah, Blah! Technology blog — 3 years old

Later in 2008 the ‘blog will be celebrating its third birthday, which is a milestone by anyone’s standards.

That’s 3 years of technology trends, opinion and commentary, with nary a news story in sight.

So watch this space, as we hope to mark the occasion in some way — with Kate & I venturing far into our abattoir of talent, selecting only the finest, reaching deeply into our respective repertoire of ideas, just for you.

Well, not just you personally, but you get the general idea…

I subscribe because I like the big words you use …

Seriously, though, it’s so refreshing to hear ideas and opinions from a non-biased source — even Daring Fireball seems slanted sometimes.

Keep up the great work and good luck in 2008!

Tim, always nice to hear from you, mate!

“Seriously, though, it’s so refreshing to hear ideas and opinions from a non-biased source — even Daring Fireball seems slanted sometimes.”

In some ways, Daring Fireball was a tangential kind of inspiration. And yes, now no longer the unbiased source he once was.

So am I the last bastion? The only one pursuing logic and objectivity like lost children?

I’m up for that…

Wow, you going live sounds like an excellent idea. I’m all for interactivity in your blog. I’m sure it will bring readers closer to you. Great strategy. Can’t wait to see your other ideas take shape. All the best,

Krister
