Hi John and thanks for the comments!

I really am glad to see you're benefiting form my advice.

Well worth the effort me writing this article.

I've got part two to write yet! So hopefully there'll be more good stuff to come.

It's funny you should mention RSS feeds, because I was helping Carolina last night set up a feed for her website using FeedBurner.

I suggest you push your feed through there before promoting it. Very much worth the effort.

Glad to help!

Any more questions, you know where to find me...

Thanks, Wayne! I've been in need of some advice to build my blog - I'm learning how to make an RSS feed and put tools like links to digg.com in the feed section. I'm striving to go professional with my blog and I'm learning new things all the time.

Because my blog is targeted towards survival of college/high school students, I've been using Facebook HEAVILY to spread the word about it. I'm pretty much following the advice on this post, which is encouraging - it's just interesting that my hits are coming from different sources than the 'typical' blog.

One of my most popular posts has generated HUNDREDS of hits and has started to make its way around the web. I was really surprised to actually find it on digg.com: http://digg.com/offbeat_news/The_Art_of_Pulling_an_All_Nighter

I've already experienced what you've said about digg, but through my facebook hits. However, I'm starting to see more hits coming from more different places (i.e. people's facebook 'shares' or links), and it's VERY encouraging. Now, to add RSS and digg.com links on my posts...

Wow, Wayne! You've really hit it out of the park with this one. Awesome article! For the amateur blogger such as myself, this free pearl of wisdom is of great value... thing is... this blogging thing is becoming a full time job! Keep up the great work! Carolina.
